As of the end of March 2021, the Population of Refugees in South Sudan was at 317, 158 individuals (68,004 Households) while that of Asylum Seekers was at 3,826 individuals (3,043 Households) with a total of 320,984 individuals consisting of 71,830 households spread in 21 different locations across South Sudan. Refugees 52.3% of the refugees are female. Women and children represent 83% of the total refugee population. The Sudanese refugee population remains the largest at 293,504 individuals (92.5%), followed by DRC Congo 16,802 individuals (5.3%), Ethiopia 4,250 individuals (1.3%), Central African Republic 2,231 individuals (0.7%), and 371(0.1%) individuals from other nationalities. 2.7% of the entire Refugees aged 60 and above, 37.3 % is between the ages of 18 – 59, 18.5% are aged between 12 and 17 years of age while 60% of the refugee population is below the age of 18. Most of the refugees are hosted in Upper Nile and the Unity States in South Sudan representing 90.6% of the total population.
