Working Group Description

The Economic Empowerment Working Group (EEWG) is a national coordination platform that brings together humanitarian and development actors working to expand sustainable economic opportunities for refugees and host communities in Jordan. The group promotes a comprehensive economic empowerment approach that goes beyond short-term livelihoods support to include entrepreneurship, market systems development, skills enhancement, financial inclusion, and private sector engagement. The EEWG facilitates strategic coordination, information sharing, and joint planning among partners to strengthen coherence, reduce duplication, and improve the effectiveness of economic interventions. The group also provides a space for dialogue on policy, regulatory, and operational challenges affecting economic participation. The EE WG is co-led by relevant stakeholders and remains adaptable to evolving economic, policy, and displacement dynamics, contributing to stronger alignment between humanitarian response efforts and longer-term development and resilience objectives.
