UNHCR’s overall strategic objective, in collaboration with the Libyan authorities, is to enhance the protection environment and provide life-saving assistance to displaced populations, asylum seekers, refugees, and affected host communities in Libya. A key priority is the pursuit of durable solutions outside Libya for some of the most vulnerable asylum seekers and refugees. UNHCR operates in a complex environment marked by ongoing conflict and instability, which has been exacerbated by conflict in Sudan. The organization is actively involved in responding to the needs of Sudanese refugees arriving in Libya, leading interagency efforts to address the growing crisis. UNHCR strives to improve the living conditions and prospects of displaced populations in Libya.
